Bulgogi Brothers and excessive shopping.

Hi guys! It is 1.21am now and I am still awake because I am supposed to be doing my assignments but of course I am blogging instead.

These are the assignments I have to complete by the end of next week:
  1. 15 page essay for Introduction to Media Studies.
  2. 2000 word group assignment for Gender, Culture, and Society.
  3. 2500 word group essay and presentation slides for Introduction to Gender Studies.
But being the typical university student that I am, I will blog about my lunch with Sally last Thursday first. :D

It's been MONTHS since I've last seen Sally so we both decided that an outing had to be in order! Seow Wei was supposed to join us but she found out last minute that she had a family lunch to attend so she couldn't come! :( (We asked Mae Vin to join too but as usual when I texted her, I got no reply. It's a little rude if you ask me but Sally just told me not to bother.)

So it was only both of us! :D Sally decided we to go to Mid Valley and she would bring me for lunch at a Korean restaurant!

Just a few days ago I saw in Chuckei and Ashohtonic's blog that they had lunch at a Korean restaurant called Bulgogi Brothers and I was wondering if Sally would be bringing me there.

And true enough:

:D :D :D

And I have to say, their food is really really good! And quite affordable too because it is after all foreign food! :D

Me!

One half of my favourite best friends, Sally. :) (The other half is of course annoying Cherrie who is currently in UK!)

We had the best beef I have ever tasted (Sally agreed too!)! They were so flavourful and tender, it was crazy!!!

And in the shape of a heart too! So cute! <3

We also had kimchi soup with chicken. At first bite it was a bit too sour for me because usually in Malaysia I guess kimchi soup is made a bit sweeter to suit our taste but Sally told me that authentic kimchi soup is actually supposed to be a lot more sour than sweet.

I wasn't used to it at first, but after few bites I got accustomed to the taste and I really enjoyed it leh! Somehow even though I have never tasted authentic kimchi soup before, eating that made me feel like it was authentic! LOL (I know you don't understand what I'm saying.)

The beef set came with many sides! :D

Edamame peas, sweet potato and corn. I covered all the peas and Sally ate the rest. Hehe.

These were veges that we were supposed to eat with the beef, to sort of counter the rich taste of the beef with some freshness. But I went and grilled these veges on the hot pan and this made the waitress a bit excited and she went and told her colleagues about it. LOL

We were also served with some corn soup and the moment Sally and I tasted it we just looked at each other.

It was so good lah!!! Creamy and fragrant! NYUMS.

One interesting about Korean food is they come with a lot of refillable side dishes!!! Hehe. I don't know why I didn't snap the photo of my favourite sides but they were the lotus roots and paku-pakis (I don't know what it's called in English) dishes!!!

In the photo about are kimchi vege, soy kangkung and pickled turnip. :D

The waitress grilling our food for us. :D

Heart-shaped beef so good and delicious!!! It was so hard for me to eat them because I didn't want them to finish!!! LOL

The waitress put this on each of our plates. Hehe.

We were supposed to eat the beef with three type of sauces but Sally and I whole-heartedly decided that it didn't need any!!! IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH ON ITS OWN. NYUMS!

I couldn't understand how beef could taste so tender so I asked my mum about it. She said that maybe they mixed in liver with the minced meat that made it so tender. O.O

Supposing this is true? Do I mind? I don't eat innards but if they make beef patties so much more tender, I WELCOME THEM. (Providing they don't bring their disgusting texture and taste along lah.)

I like Korean cutlery. So pretty! Hehe.

Happy Sally is happy.

The bill came up to RM74 and we split that between us. :D After that we went for a movie!

\

We watched Life of Pi! It was really nice! I always like hollywood movies with Indian actors somehow. Like Slumdog Millionaire. I don't know. Watching movies like that relaxes me. Ahaha. :D

Look how incredibly expressive I am. lol

We went shopping for a while after that and I am embarrassed to say I bought clothes again. By again I mean two days before the lunch with Sally I already bought a pair Cotton On trousers, Cotton On shorts and a Cotton On top and on the day of the lunch, I again bought a Cotton On (I am a big Cotton On fan) dress and a pair of Forever 21 shorts.

I CAN'T HELP IT. SALES EVERYWHERE.

My outfit of the day. These are the Cotton On shorts and top that I bought. lol Shoes from Times Square.

Camwhoring in Cotton On's fitting room before I tried on some clothes. #GirlsBeingGirls lol

Damage STEAL: RM60. Only Rm30 each!!! HOW TO NOT BUY. T_____________T

This is how the Cotton On dress looks on me. What do you think? :D

Ending this post with yet another photo of new nails!

This time turquoise with a bit of pale pink. :D

I can officially call myself a nail polish queen now. Every week I go back home I will apply new nail colours. I am now an expert in painting nails!

Anybody needs help just call me ok! lol :D

What it's like being a celebrity

Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially a celebrity now.

**How else would you explain why I was so eagerly interviewed by the TV9 crew the other day when they came to UM to film? Because I am now a famous celebrity, that's why.

That's right. I was interviewed because people are always interested to find out what I have to say about any issues at all!

And last Tuesday, the topic that they decided to ask me about was The Pros and Cons of Social Networking Sites (SNS) on Mobile Gadgets (phones, tablets, laptops)!

I, as an expert on the subject, given the fact that I am rarely seen without my phone on my hands (busy texting Lord Zeus, checking Facebook updates, tweeting, uploading photos to Instagram), was asked to explain my addiction towards SNS to a big round of applause from the huge crowd around me!

As you can see, people were surrounding me with eager anticipation to get a piece of my genius contribution!

A celebrity has to work hard.

Look! So many people were rooting for me!

I am always so happy when I see others excited for me.

Constantly asked to push back my hair to prevent it from falling into my gorgeous celebrity face.

Other peasants were interviewed as well.

Hmm, they do have the makings of a celebrity (like myself) but, really, not quite there yet.

Ee Vonne aspires to be as famous as I am, so she opted for a style make-over. Suits her?

My fans (Qat and Anis) who wanted to take a photo with me, which I happily obliged because I decided that I wanted to be a cool celebrity.

All in all, it was a very successful event because I managed to give the best answers anybody could ever ask for to all the questions asked and of course, the crew managed to snap many photos of me which would be good for publicity.

They told me I would be informed when the interview airs on TV9's female program (of which name I unfortunately forgot because a celebrity has to be too busy to deal with such things) and I have to say I am quite excited.

Yes, yes I know you fans out there are even more excited than I am (!) so don't worry, of course I'll share the interview here in my blog once I get hold of it! Now don't say I don't spoil you guys ok? Hee hee.

Ending this post with my biggest fan, Ee Vonne's meaningful face as she continues to dream about being as successful as I am one day.

"When will my day come?"

So, see you guys next time! A celebrity has a lot to do!

**TV9 came to UM the other day to film a short segment that previews university students's addiction and infatuation towards Social Networking Sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) through easily accessible high-technology mobile gadgets in this modern era. They wanted to air this on one of their very successful women empowering program (a program that starts with an 'S', sorry, I totally have no idea what it's called because I rarely watch TV, ahem) which airs once a week on TV9. They picked me to be interviewed because, I guess, they discovered I could converse fluently in (colloquial) BM even though I have such an obvious Chinese face. LOL And of course, not because I am any sort of celebrity (YET).

Can't wait to see how the interview turns out! It could be my stepping stone to blogger stardom!

Also, fans as mentioned above are my coursemates. lol

Penis and Pregnancies

HELLO.

I am in class right now. And I have to blog this because Ee Vonne just told me about her super dumb dream yesterday. I thought that I was the only who could produce such dumb dreams so I can't believe I found a match! LOL

She told me that in her dream, women who have given birth will automatically grow a penis wtf HAHAHAHA

And she said that in her dream that was exactly what happened to her! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

After she had given birth, she was too embarrassed to meet her boyfriend because she had a PENIS. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Ee Vonne's face when she found out she had a new penis.

Imagine this happening in real life!!! HAHA! Like after women have given birth to their third child or something and they feel like they no longer want to get pregnant, instead of bothering them with menstruation again, they automatically grow a penis. Then we wouldn't have to worry about accidental pregnancies anymore! INGENIOUS RIGHT. HAHAHAHAHAHA

But then there is obviously no more sex since your wife has a freaking PENIS so obviously pregnancies won't happen right.

Yes I know sex has other, uh, entrances, but even so, that would not result in pregnancy as well! So that solution is perfect! GENIUS!

HAHAHAHA Ok that's really stupid, it started from Ee Vonne's dream not mine! (Ok the other nonsense are mine but it ALL started from Ee Vonne, so she is to be blamed!!!)

Oppa Canton style!

I feel a little bit stupid. Now that I have started a new blog (and yes, it is very pretty and squeaky clean), I am finding it to hard to decide, when I want to blog, where that blog post should go. My old blog or new blog?

But never mind, since this is a new blog, I shall post this post here. (Also because I want to recycle photos from the old blog here LOL)

Okay so on to my topic.

I was reading AshOhTonic's blog just now I suddenly I realised something: Before my affinity for Malay boys started, I actually had a thing for boys who speak Cantonese!

HOW DID I FORGET THIS.

Just now I was watching her videos with her boyfriend and suddenly all the memories came rushing back: a guy who is able to speak Cantonese is so...appealing!

You see, Cantonese is my mother's tongue! Someone who can speak it really attracts me! And to think of it, it's more appealing, even, than speaking English!!!

Ok so this is a bit scary. You see, I have irrational affinity for things. Somethings that I like, I really have no solid reasons for them. Ie thick eyebrows, my boyfriend's tummy, onions (raw or cooked), squared nails and guys who can speak Cantonese.

And because of that, I have a new plan in mind: I WILL TEACH LORD ZEUS CANTONESE AND MAKE SURE THAT HE WILL ONE DAY BE ABLE TO SPEAK IT FLUENTLY!

Yes, I want that. That is what I want. I want that that that. (Jeff Ng if you are reading this, this is what I meant and not your dirty assumptions lol)

I actually like the really, really Hong Kong-style Cantonese, but too bad I have nobody to speak it to. (Not that I am very well-versed in it, but I can improve by speaking it!) You may ask, if Cantonese is my mother tongue, how come I can't speak it with my family? That's because the Cantonese we speak is the Malaysian Cantonese. ==

It is nothing compared to what HK Cantonese sounds like! HK Cantonese is very...very... ok HK Cantonese is the equivalent of British English, in a sense. Now you get what I mean?

I love it!

Supposing I start speaking HK Cantonese to my sister, I think she would slap me first before asking me (in Malaysian Cantonese) what on earth I was trying to do.

So you see. It isn't easy trying to be all HK in Klang. Maybe in KL it would be easier! And since I am in KL now...hmm...

Anyway. I will first start with my mission to convert Lord Zeus to a HK Cantonese speaking hottie first and only then I will try to convince people around me to speak it!

I don't think it will be too hard to convert LZ though, because before this we mainly conversed in Malay but after regularly speaking in English, all of a sudden we just could no longer speak Malay to one another anymore!!! It sounds weird whenever we try to speak Malay again so in the end we gave up and started to only speak in English. lol

Before I end this post maybe I should clarify on what exactly differentiates HK Cantonese to Malaysian Cantonese. I will give comparisons:

Hey, what's up lately?
MC: Wei, lei gan pai zou meh ah?
HKC: Wei, nei gan pai yao meh gao ah?

Hi, have you eaten?
MC: Wei, sek jor fan mei?
HKC: Wei, sek bao mei ah?

Wah! That guy is damn hot!
MC: Wah! Goh gor lam zai hou leng zai ah!
HKC: Wah! Gor tiu zai hou sok ah!

HAHAHAHA ok so I know these are not very clarifying explanations but I think you Cantonese speakers will understand what I mean right???

"Me? Speak HK Cantonese???"

Lord Zeus & Lady Hera

***

Oooh! Last Monday me and Ee Vonne bought a mini cake for Akmal because it was his birthday!

One thing hanging out with Ee Vonne that made me realise is, we should always just try to make someone happy, no matter how small the effort is.

If it was up to me, I would have just wished him a Happy Birthday and that was the end of it, but Ee Vonne suggested that we bought a cake for Akmal, and we did!

I would have been too worried that he might think it in a wrong way, or that I might have many follow-up birthday gifts to give to my other friends (when you give to one friend, you have to give to the others too right. It's only fair!), yes yes I am very selfish, and that's why I thank Ee Vonne for this!

She made me realise that as long as we have the heart to do something that can make a person happy, just do it! Don't allow the other petty excuses to dampen your deed.

And it really makes all the difference. :)

So...I started a new blog.

For reasons unknown, of course.

Ok well, I do have some reasons, but they are quite embarrassing ones, so I don't think I should reveal them...

...as if they are not obvious enough.
  1. My old blog was started when I was, what, 16? And as you know, at age 16, we are nothing but raging buds of hormones, so it is only normal that our blog posts during then are a bit, er, dumb.
  2. The URL for my old blog is a little bit hard for people to understand, because obviously, I am not famous enough. But I do realise that famous bloggers have short and sweet stage names, so I chose mine - Lady Hera.
  3. Ultimately (and this is the most embarrassing one), I want people to read me. (translation: I want to be a famous blogger!)
And so, those are my embarrassing reasons. I hope my honesty in my first post is enough to garner more and more readers soon, because I will also try my best to put up many, many kick-ass posts with nice photos and pretty faces (mine, mostly).

So you might ask why I chose such a cheesy and act-cute name Lady-Hera for my blog name. Well, I have a background story!

You see, my boyfriend is a very interesting man. He likes playing racing games very much. *And so, because he has a very lame name (LOL SORRY IT IS), which is, Salam, he decides to use another name to register for said racing games so that when his name appears on the top of the winner list (as always), people will actually think it is quite cool.

So the name that he chose was Lord Zeus.

And if you Google it, you will find out that Lord Zeus's wife was Lady Hera. And yes during your research you may also discover that Lady Hera was Lord Zeus's sister also, but let's not talk about that part.

And also, Lady Hera happens to be the Goddess Marriage, Women and Birth, so I attribute the suitability of this stage name for me to the fact that, I, myself, am a very womanly lady, one who loves passionately and of course, gets along with babies really well:

So that's the reason for my newly acquired stage name.

It's a really nice name, if you read it out loud while thinking about my face.

Because it's a name that's made for me, obviously. Or maybe I am Lady Hera's reincarnation, since we're both similarly beautiful, gorgeous and womanly, duh.

*I totally made that up.
